The purpose of Chula Vista Genealogical Society (CVGS) is to promote interest in genealogy and family history research through individual and group support. The Society sponsors programs designed to provide information and continuing education on genealogy research topics through monthly speaker presentations, genealogical interest groups and field trips, all of which are available to the public. Attendees network with each other, both at in-person classes and events and virtually during Zoom meetings.
It is not necessary to have ancestors in Chula Vista! Most attendees have no ancestral ties to the city but take part because they are in the area and want to learn more about researching family genealogy.
CVGS Board meetings are open to the public and are held virtually the first Wednesday of the month.
Contact presidentofcvgs@gmail.com for access details.
The Society calendar runs January to December and board members are elected every two years.
