“Finding Home Here or There -

A Guide To Canadian Research”

Presented by: Patricia Diane Godinez

Starling in British Columbia, Canada, with her Canadian parents, Patricia Diane Godinez will take you on a trip with stops in Saskatchewan, Ontario, Ellis Island, and ending in French Canada. If you have had immigrant ancestors coming from England and Europe, you’ll learn and sympathize with her relatives as they endured trials and tribulations as War Brides, Home Children, or as Members of the Petworth Project. Come learn how researching in Canada can help you with your research in the United States and beyond.

Diane Longhurst, as she was called, when she made her new home in the USA, has done extensive research in Canada and Mexico. She has 4 decades of experience after taking an introductory set of classes at the LDS Church. She has also given classes in beginning Family History and shares her love of finding people and putting families in touch with one another again. She has participated in numerous Family History Fairs and is a fan of DNA testing to break thru brickwalls. You can tell when Diane is around because she is forever taking everyone’s picture and sending those along to her friends and to the CVGS newsletter or website.

Following the presentation by our guest speaker there will be raffle drawings, refreshments and fellowship to complete the program.

Please register soon if you plan to attend this meeting so that we may better plan for this event.
